You can try using one of these gap filler products here, but for 3D printed miniatures I recommend the method I use below. Next spray the model with your selected color of spray paint. First clean the model of any dust and make sure it's clean. I don't need to smooth anything too crazy and it doesn't need to be perfect, just looking to make the layer lines a little bit less noticeable. Everything I've read about smoothing PLA suggests sanding it, but I'm worried that for more detailed prints that would destroy a lot of the details. If you heat the plastic after sanding to just the point the outer shell starts melting the horrible matte finish goes away and the original color of the plastic returns. Then quickly spray a layer of Polyurethane. The paint and Polyurethane will mix and fill the layers, any holes, and printed flaws.
